Taking from rural places damages more than just the economy or environment, it can also weaken the communities, language, and culture that belong to those places.

He emphasises that landscape is much more than scenery: it carries history, place names, memories, stories, settlement patterns, and culture. Securing official AONB status for the Tywi Valley would legally recognise its unique heritage, rich ecology, its exceptional and unspoiled countryside, giving it the protection it deserves rather than leaving it vulnerable to industrialisation from outside renewable energy companies like Green GEN/Bute.

Attending either or both of these events will make a real difference. However, we would love to see as many people as possible at the public meeting on the 31st. So, come along if you can, have a cup of tea or coffee and give us your views and ideas on how to progress the AONB campaign.

There are two upcoming events in October, one being organised by Green GEN and one being organised by Our Tywi Valley campaign group. 1.
